Our Statement of Faith and Beliefs
At Agape Pastoral Services, we believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, and it is meant for our instruction, correction, and encouragement. God's Word is not merely a historical record, but a living and active revelation of His nature, His will, and His redemptive plan for mankind. It stands as our supreme source of truth and the final authority for how we live, what we teach, and how we counsel.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 reminds us that “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.” This foundational truth guides every conversation, resource, and counsel we offer.
We are unapologetically passionate about Jesus Christ—who He is, what He did, and what He continues to do. We believe Jesus is exactly who He said He is: the eternal Son of God, the Savior of the world, the way, the truth, and the life. He came to earth not merely as a great teacher or moral example, but as the only perfect sacrifice for sin. His death and resurrection make reconciliation with God possible, and His teachings shape every part of how we understand life, relationships, and purpose.
In our marriage and individual counseling, these beliefs are not secondary—they are foundational. Whether we are talking about forgiveness, unity, calling, or emotional health, we always begin with God’s truth, empowered by His Spirit, and directed toward restoration, healing, and growth in Christ.
The following statements summarize the core doctrines we hold and teach. They reflect the heart of our ministry and the truth we aim to embody and share in every session, conversation, and resource:
ABOUT GOD
God is the living Creator and Ruler of the universe who created us for an ongoing personal relationship with Him. He eternally exists in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of the same homage, confidence, and obedience.

2. ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
He is the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary. He is true God and true man. By offering his sinless life as a sacrifice, he brought salvation to all people. He arose from the dead to conquer the power of sin and death. He now lives in Heaven and will return again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Master of all creation. Jesus is the creator and fulfillment of all our hopes and dreams.
Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18, 25; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Philippians 2:6-11; Revelation 1:4-8
3. ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives within each believer from the moment of his or her salvation, thereby assuring their redemption from the penalty of sin and baptizing them into the one body of Christ. He gives each believer a spiritual gift or gifts. He provides each believer with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.

4. ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s Word to us. It is fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is a living document made relevant to us through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth and the final authority for Christian belief and living.

5. ABOUT PEOPLE
People were originally created in the image of God. That image was altered by choices made by the original man and woman. Yet, people are still the supreme object of God’s creation and love, and are intended to celebrate and enjoy God’s goodness. However, all people, by their inherent nature and by their choice, are disobedient toward God in attitude and action, which is sin. As a result, people are separated from God spiritually and physically and have been rendered unable to please Him.

6. ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is a free gift of grace from God, not something we can earn or achieve. It is received by faith when we recognize our sin, repent, and trust in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as full payment for our sin. Through salvation, we are reconciled to God and made new in Christ.
John 1:12-13, 3:3-16; 5:24; 10:28-29; Acts 3:19; 17:30; 16:31; Romans 3:21-28;5:1; 6:23; Gal. 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 2:11; 3:3-8; 1 Timothy 1:15; 6:12; 1 Peter 1:23; 2 Peter 1:4-11; Hebrews 5:7-9; Revelation 1:5
7. ABOUT ETERNITY
We were created to live forever. Every person will spend eternity in one of two places—either in eternal union with God through salvation or separated from God because of sin. Heaven and Hell are real destinations, and our choices in this life determine our eternal future.
John 3:16; 5:28-29; Matthew 10:28; 18:8-9, 25, 41, 46; Mark 9:43-49; Luke 16:19-26; 23:42; Romans 6:23; 8:17-18; 2 Corinthians 5:8; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9; Philippians 1:23; Revelation 20:15
