Christian Marriage Counseling

Christian Marriage Counseling is designed for couples that find themselves at the end of their rope with their marriage. They’ve reached a point where they don’t know where to turn and divorce is seeming more and more like an option!

Please be encouraged by looking into this as I’m here to tell you that there is hope! If there’s just one person that is committed to holding on to the relationship, there is an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to do a miracle and bring restoration and healing to your marriage.

I know it may sound impossible, but I’ve seen it happen over and over again where God is allowed to do His thing because there is a committed and praying spouse and with a little guidance and direction, He can change hearts and create something beautiful out of something that seemed destined for divorce!

As we start working together it will be my goal to get to know you as best I can, learn more about your story, how you got to the point of where you are today, and then from there it's a matter of helping you to both learn new patterns of behavior in your personal and married lives together. In advance of us meeting the first time, you'll take a Prepare/Enrich Marriage Assessment to give both me and you insight into the eight or so different areas of your marriage. This tool can be very helpful and sometimes eye opening to couples. Sometimes it helps to see some things in black and white!

I have very successfully helped many couples work through all sorts of things ranging from communication and conflict resolution issues, to trust related things like lying, pornography, and even infidelity. So regardless of where you find yourself, I've helped and seen couples find healing and restoration in many different circumstances if they're committed to finding a way to make it work.

Method and Tools - I completely believe that God's Word has the power to transform lives and if we are willing to study God's Word and submit to its authority, life change can and will occur. Therefore, for what I do to work, you must be committed to investing the necessary time, effort and energy into studying God's Word and then putting that knowledge into action by what I would call, "lifing" it out! In James 2:14-16 it says, "Faith without works is dead," so we must do something with it for it to matter. One of my favorite all time quotes says it this way, "The outgrowth of all knowledge is obedience, everything else is just useless information." - Watchman Knee.

You see, we can have all the knowledge in the world, but unless we do something with it or "life it out," it's useless information. I mean I could memorize the entire Bible from Genesis through Revelation, but unless I'm practicing and lifing out what it says, it's just useless information.

My qualifications are that I am called by God to minister to couples in need and have been for over 25 years. Over this time I have worked with hundreds of couple while also serving in full time pastoral ministry for 10 of those years. One of my job roles at the church was to counsel people in need so I worked with individuals, couples, and families to help them navigate their individual and unique circumstances. I now use and call on all that real life and the Power of God's Word to bring healing and reconciliation to marriages that need it. I make no guarantees to couples receiving the results that they desire because I believe that great marriages in general are a choice and that belief is based on the passage above.

I do however acknowledge that some people can and do have physiological and psychological needs that only a licensed, educated and trained person can meet. If together we discern that this is the case for you, I will make the recommendation for you to find someone in your local area to see, or if you're local to me, I can help steer you in the right direction based on my experiences with local professionals.
